Malachi was a great prophet and the last one recorded in the Old Testament. We studied his prophecies this week.

Malachi has only 4 chapters in the last book of the Old Testament, yet it contains much.

One of my favorites is the prophecy about Elijah:

\”Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD\”

It is wonderous to think how this has been fulfilled with Elijah coming to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in the Kirtland Temple.

The prophecy goes on…

\”And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.\”

And it\’s wonderful to see how this is being fulfilled too. Since the coming of Elijah there has been an increased interest in genealogy and family history work – not just in the church either.

We are finding our families and bringing them together in ways unheard of previously.

Now a days you can use DNA matching to find family you never could have 100 years ago.

Records that used to take countless hours to search just to find one name, now are being indexed and we have tools that can find possible matches automatically, bring them to our attention and let us do more research in regards to them to confirm or deny the matches.

We are bringing families together more quickly than ever has been able to be done in history.

The hearts of the fathers are turning to the children and the hearts of the children are clearly turning to their fathers.

Let us know what you think...
