Rosina here.  Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

And I hope you didn\’t believe the date on my last email…

I looked at the list of emails in my account and saw two for the 9th lol… but the second one was really for the 11th.

You probably guessed that from the date it arrived lol.

Well today, the first thing I did was change the date in the subject so it will be correct today!

Now for the important stuff… Valentine\’s Day is coming… It\’s tomorrow!

Remember that gift I mentioned…

Well it\’s coming and it\’s awesome!

So be sure to watch your mailboxes tomorrow…

I\’m excited for you, you\’ll love it!

Meanwhile, let\’s talk about traffic like I said Saturday…

Oh where to start.

There are so many sources of traffic.

So, let\’s start wiith the one everyone is pushing more than everything else when they talk about traffic for their system or offer you are promoting…

Let\’s talk about social media traffic, especially Facebook.

That is the one traffic source you hear about more than any other…

Yes, you can do lots of other things, but you \”NEED to be driving \’free\’ traffic from Facebook\”.

Let\’s look at what\’s involved

Does that about cover it?  I think that\’s most of it.

Now this is mostly Facebook terms, but the same applies to practically all of the social media platforms, they just call them different things.

So, positives…

And, the negatives…

Now, know that I am not a big fan of social media… I do it, but I hate it… so I am probably biased…

But to me, as a traffic source, the negatives greatly outweigh the positives.

That\’s not to say social media doesn\’t have its place – it\’s a great place to get together and share ideas -, but as a traffic source it isn\’t that successful.

You are not going to drive a lot of traffic this way. At most you might get 2 or 3 clicks (not even leads) a day to visit your site and in the beginning you\’ll probably be lucky to get 2 or 3 a month. Admittedly the clicks you do get are high quality and likely to result in a lead to your list (if you are sending them to a lead capture page) and/or a higher possibility of a sale than most other sources of traffic but you\’re still looking at maybe 50-60% get on your list, so 1-2 per day at most – you\’ll probably get more unsubscribes than that per day.

I do do social media, but my aim is not primarily to drive traffic (though I do try to encourage people I talk to to visit my site), my aim is to build relationships, develop other sources of traffic, teach what I know, and learn from other people.

I admit, I am only on Facebook 3-4 times a week (definitely not 3-4 times a day), so don\’t expect fast responses from me there and even less on other social media platforms.

So that about covers it for free social media traffic.

What is your opinion of social media traffic?

Agree with me or disagree with me, I\’d like to hear it.

Are there any specific traffic sources you\’d like me to cover?  Reply and ask, and I\’ll cover them!

To your success!
