“The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper,” in Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Howard W. Hunter (2015), 197–206.
The deacons dispersed throughout the chapel to serve the broken bread. One of them came to our row and held the silver tray while I partook. Then I held the tray so Sister Hunter could partake, and she held it for the person next to her. Thus the tray went down the row, each serving and being served.
I had never thought of the passing of the sacrament in quite this way before.\”Each serving and being served.\” This seems to me a very special part of thee ordinance of the sacrament. There is so much meaning in both the act of serving and the act of being served.
Gratitude
I am grateful today for my father who called me for help on his temple memories project. I only wish I could have remembered more to help him out.
