Genesis 37:2

These are the agenerations of Jacob. bJoseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

Even in the small and simple ways Joseph foreshadowed Christ. Joseph was a shepherd and Christ is the good shepherd watching over thee people of his flock and listening to them.

Gratitude

Today I am thankful that Holly is there to help Heather and Mari and Loren and keep the rest of us up to date. Today he was not doing very well from what she said this morning. I\’m glad she is there to help Heather and Mari through this time both physically and emotionally.

Random Thoughts

Today I was able to solve a problem that one of my coaches found. It had to do with using a secure website as a link in BuildRedirects. He sent me what he had as far as getting it set up and let me take it from there.

It stumped me for a while, after I got it all set up using the directions for setting up SSL on the domain and setting up the CNAME for the subdomain, it still would not work when you told BuildRedirects to use https://go.mydomain.com for the domain name.

Well it turned out to be a relatively simple fix. You have to use JUST the domain name, not the https://, so just go.mydomain.com in the domain name field.  Then you can use either http:// or https:// in the link you are distributing and they will both work eventhough the link it gives you is always the http:// one, they still both work. It\’s not clear why it has to be that way but it does. I tested it several ways and the only way it worked is this one.

I discovered it by watching one of the help videos when I was thinking about contacting their support for help. Thankfully I listened to the still small voice whispering to me. That video doesn\’t talk about secure links but it always put in just the domain in the domain field, so I decided to try it just to be sure it didn\’t make a difference. It did make a difference though.

So now I can send my results back to Evan and carefully apply it to domains I actually use that have many other DNS records that have to be carefully transferred.
