How do I Hear Him?
Recently, all too recently, I was driving to the bridge. I had said goodbye to my dog and my cat. Set a message to go to a friend in a few hours asking her to take care of them. I didn’t say anything to my friends because I knew they would stop me. And I was done.
About half way there, I heard this voice in my mind. “I love you. Don’t do it. Go back home.”
I pulled the car over to the side of the road and sat there for a while. The voice came again. “I love you. It’s only two more days until treatment. Go back home.”
My cat and my dog were excited to see me when I walked in the door. We got on the bed and read scriptures.
I’m crying even now.
It’s not the first time and probably won’t be the last, though I can always hope so. But this time the voice came clear and distinct, not just a feeling that changes my mind. And this time it was before I actually made it to the bridge. I often go to the hospital before I get to this point, but this time I couldn’t.
